EXHIBITS INFORMATION

Welcome Exhibitors!

The Washington Library Association’s annual conference will be held at the Tacoma Sheraton in Tacoma, Washington April 19-22. The conference theme is Grow: Connect. Learn. Aspire. The Conference is shaping up to be an exciting and fun filled three days of programs and events.

The conference is expected to draw between 350-400 attendees from public, academic, school, and special libraries throughout Washington State. There is a great lineup of speakers and program topics that should draw a lot of interest from this diverse library community. Speakers include Bell Hooks, noted social critic, writer and scholar; ALA president Michael Gorman; and Steven Kellogg. Programs include Rebel with a Cause, Branding for Libraries, Can Your Phone Talk to Your Refrigerator?, Booktalking the Best, Growing with Emerging Immigrant Groups, and Straight Scoop: A Candid and Irreverent Look at Library Work.

As you will see from the information given below, exhibit hours will be Thursday, April 20 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday April 21 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. There are four scheduled non-conflict times for attendees to visit the exhibits hall as well as special events for exhibitors that include: A no-host bar reception from 5:00 – 6:00 Thursday evening in the exhibits area and prize drawings in the exhibits hall throughout the two days

We invite you to participate in this exciting conference by completing the accompanying registration form.  Early registration gives your company a better chance at having a space that meets all your requirements.  Additional details are given below.

         April 20, 9:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Thursday)
         April 22, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Friday)

         Thursday:
         Exhibits Grand Opening – 9:00-10:00 a.m.
         Break with Exhibitors – 2:45-3:15 p.m.
         Exhibitor Reception – 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

        Friday:
         Break with Exhibitors – 10:30-11:00 a.m.
         Exhibit Grand Finale – 2:00- 3:00 p.m.

  Dismantle: Friday, April 21, after 3:00 p.m.

Vendor Demonstrations
  We have a limited number of one hour slots available for vendors   to demonstrate their products in one of the small conference   rooms. If you are interested please indicate this on your   registration form and we will work with you to set up a time and   location.

Company Listing in Program
All exhibitors registering before February 25 will be listed in the conference program.  WLA Sustaining Members will receive special recognition in the program, as well as on site.  See the included WLA information brochure.

Opportunities for Sponsorships
Please help us to help you by making your products and services highly visible to attendees!   We hope you’ll consider the following opportunities:

  • Sponsor an author book or poster signing.
  • Donate items for drawing prizes.
  • Donate compact items to be included in the tote bags given to the 350+ attendees.

Attending Conference Events
Tickets are available for purchase to attend WLA conference meals and other activities.  We welcome your participation!  For more information, visit the conference website noted above.

Site Information
Space is limited.  Priority for space assignments will be based on date of receipt of Exhibitor Registration Form and payment.  We will attempt to follow the preferences and special requests you note on your Registration Form although location of computer connections may effect booth locations.   For information about computer connection costs contact Lynn Red.

All booths include 8-foot draped tables, two chairs, and electricity; the entire exhibits area is carpeted.
